These images form part of a photo-essay that illustrate the passing of time and subsequent urgency required to record and document people’s experiences of the early and mid 20th century. As we enter into an era of ever more unstable geo-politics, I hope that stories of hope and humanism from a Vera Lynn generation might resonate with one of TikTok and Instagram.
